Banzai!

Wau! This is possibly the finest wargame ever built.

For those who might be in the know, any additional information on the Bomb Alley remake? I realize there most likely an NDA amongst other things, but I have a great deal of interest in such a game and would be grateful of any further information.

Hello
I've found small mistake on the Japanese map. "KUNASHIRI JIMA" & "ETOROFO
JIMA" are not correct.
"KUNASHIRI TOU" & "ETOROFU TOU" are correct.

These islands are still occupied by Russia...

Not that I have any say in the matter, but I would rather see the time spent on Bomb Alley.

You got my vote on that too!

I probably played bomb alley more than I did PacWar.

All I know is that Joel has expressed publicly that his wish is to do Bomb Alley next. As far as I know, there has not been any work done on it. But then again, I did not know they were working on Gary Grigsby's World at War until it showed up as a thread.

Any similarities between the old computer Bomb Alley and the Avalanche Press wargame of the same name? Apologies if this is an obvious and/or stupid question. [:)] I missed out on the glory days of computer wargaming.

That is pretty freakin' impressive! I actually walked around behind my monitor to see if I could see Africa and Europe.

Looks like all the home-maintainence chores will be on hold for a couple of years when this thing comes out.

Damien Thorn -> RE: New WITP website is online ... (6/1/2004 9:25:34 PM)

I think they should have made Japan it's own zone. Now, if you want to turn some zones over to the AI it has control of some of the factory in Japan since Japan is split into many zones. I'll be worried about giving the AI control of any zone because of that. [:(]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: New WITP website is online ... (6/1/2004 9:50:58 PM)

What solution did they have for hex-size distortion due to the 2-d projection of the 3-d planet?

BTW....shouldn't Easter Island be on the strategic map? [;)]

Andy Mac -> RE: New WITP website is online ... (6/1/2004 11:23:54 PM)

Being a lil picky on ltd info but what exactly is the difference between the two marks of Beaufighter the two FB modes.

Unless im seeing things they have the exact same stats ?

Andy

None ... Map's been hand adjusted as well as they could. It is really not possible without a real curved map coupled with a lot facier math for everything. People will just have to live with it.

One day perhaps we'll have fully vector based everything where the exact globe can be used with real distances between any two points on an irregular object like our little lump of rock. I've yet to see accuracy of that level in flight simulators forget about war games.

My particular annoyance is that certain DD's that had the range to go to Oz run out of fuel about 2 hexes short. [:D]

A really big radar? [;)]

One is a night fighter, the other is a fighter bomber.

Andy Mac -> RE: New WITP website is online ... (6/1/2004 11:52:41 PM)

Sorry Frag im reading the screenshot that there are three types

1 NF I agree VIF

but 2 variants on the FB with the same stats the Mk 21 and the VIC are they both FB's or is one a NF ?

Andy

Iron Duke -> RE: New WITP website is online ... (6/2/2004 1:26:55 AM)

Hi,

The VIF is a nightfigter, the VIC and Mk 21 are fighterbombers ( VIC's correct title is a maritime strike fighter) The VIF and VIC produced in England , the Mk21 produced in Australia. The Availability date of 43-01 for the Mk21 looks to be about 6 months early? and the VIC's about 6 months late?
