Hi all. Does anyone else use Fallschrimjaeger in the WWII campaigns? I find that buying a company or 2 of Fallschrim. and then some tanks, coupled with a lot of mortars is deadly. Drop the Fallschrim. behind enemy lines, usually right on top of a flag. Have the panzers race forward, bursting through the front line and squeezing an enemy force until it is destroyed. Have the Fallschrimjaeger expand in a ring around the DZ, killing everything is sight while the Panzers link up with them.

Well it's a bit more difficult againt the designed campaigns :) Authors are usually good enough to put lots of AA and in some like Watchword Freedom will rocket you into total submission when you land. Add some landmines delaying your panzers and a bunch of enemy tanks to finish off your suppressed paras and it can get ugly. It all depends on the scenario and campaign, some are more lax than others.

A hefty dose of katayusha rockets can keep a majority of your paratroopers suppressed the entire time. :)

To be flying in the air scattered into small parts counts as suppression?[;)]

Congratulations, you've found a very weak ability of the AI to deal with a strategy you throw at it. I certainly hope you don't think that would work against any human player. You'd get your ass handed to you one a plate.

To learn the tactics that work and what doesn't work you should go at the AI the way it was designed to deal with you; through face to face battle, not jumping into its backyard.

The game really is great, even against the AI, if you play to its strengths, not abuse its weaknesses.

Just my .02

Bob

Wow, rbrun you don't need to get so god damned pissy. Did I say MP? Where ever did I say against a human player? Please point it out to me. I do believe that I specifically stated that I was using the WWII Campaigns. Now you don't need to go all elitist on me, so stop being a little bitch.

Les_the_Sarge_9_1 -> RE: Fallschrim.? (6/3/2004 7:52:37 PM)

deathsai is that your normal introductory style, and more importantly, does it actually work?

rbrunsman certainly doesn't need my support, but man, you better be wearing a helmet.

That sort of behaviour is about as useless for making friends as you could hope it to be.

Don't be shocked if the temperature around you plumets eh.

Marc von Martial -> RE: Fallschrim.? (6/3/2004 7:58:18 PM)

Calm down guys. If I had been a first time poster I would have felt "attacked" by rbunsman too.

So be nice and enjoy the game, okay?

You should be directing that question to Rbrun, or are you another elitist bastard just shoving around the newbies? Clearly, most of the small community here seems that way.

Alright deathsai..............you were admonished once by Marc. I highly suggest you brush up on the Matrix Forum policy. Personal insults are a no go. Keep it up and you will be on vacation from here. Capiche?

Talk about getting off on the wrong foot. [:-]
I'm putting this thread into lockdown.
