screens looks pretty good so far. nice screenies. focuses on tactical combat from a fps style. like Call of Duty, but more squad control and realistic combat. thoughts?

The screens are amazing. Thoughts? Well, if they are successful in implementing the game tactics as described, with a easy-to-use and flexible interface, then this sounds gooood.

That movie looked amazing. I mean I agree, the quality of the video itself is clearly crap, but the game play looked outstanding. Due out in October. Which after applying announced-release-date-to-reality conversion means probably Christmas.

The hot ticket now is "Full Spectrum Warrior" I cannot stop playing this game. I bought an Xbox just for this and don't regret it at all. There is even a code that you enter that unlocks the actual game they made for the Army which has customizible maps, etc. The best tactical squad level game ever. Revolutionary in every way.

I would assume you would have tanks and apc's along for support, but not in the game. It is however an excellent game to be the first effort. I hope it becomes a series and they keep adding an improving aspects of the game. I give it an 8/10.

Much more customizable with differents maps civilians etc. My son was so amused I bought an XBOX he gave me "Cronicles of Riddick" which earns a 9.5. If this is typical of what the Xbox offers, then PC gaming could be a thing of the past for me. Between these 2 games, I'll probably never leave my cave.

I have been playing Far Cry on my PC for several days now. Its the best shooter that I have played since Half Life and probably the best PC game I have played this year. I cant reccomend it highly enough.

The comments here about FSW, coming from highly qualified people, are strongly inducing me to buy an X-Box! Is really that good? Do the enemies appear at the same spot when you re-start the mission? (Not re-playing, a feature I know this game has) Are the maps of the "tunnel type" (follow the predetermined route while you take out the enemies)? How much your tactical skills have been challenged? Your feedback is appreciated.

FSW is alot like the CC series, only with just 1 squad on the ground in 3D.

This game engine was commissiond by the U.S. Army, I know for a fact that the Airborne had trained on this engine(younger Bro raved about it). may have to size my sons Xbox, never thought I say that [sm=00000116.gif]

The Ps controller is the only controller that�s really good. I have no english link yet on the MS hybrid. I only read a german news article about it a few days ago.

I caved last night and bought an XBox and Full Spectrum Warrior. [:@] Why not, I bought a PS2 just for Gran Turismo 3 and never regretted it. I've played all the way through that game twice without cheats (Never did get the gold Super License though [:(]) When I walked in with it and saw the steely glare from my wife, all I could come up with was, "You don't have to buy me a Father's day gift now!" Anyway, as far as the game goes... Its FCKNG AWESOME.[:D][:D][:D][:D] I've never seen anything quite like it. The way the soldiers move and cover for each other is incredible. Even the way they talk. They all seem like real people. Its still hard though, which is nice. You still have to move from cover point A to cover point B without getting shot and the enemy can be hard to spot. Add a tank or Bradly FV to the mix and you would be in war heaven. Only gripe I have is the era. I just find WWII so much more interesting. Also, I think it would be hard to control a great number of units. This system works fine for 2-3 teams, not sure if it would work with 30 guys and 2 tanks though. You would need the ability to give orders on a higher level, not 1 team at a time. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation!

Hey Mav try entering ha2p1py9tur5tle and you can play FSW as it was designed for the Army. Customizible maps are different than the regular game maps plus you can add civilians into the mix. You can change the agression level of the terrorists and even add aggression levels to the Civ's. It's amazing how much detail is in the soldiers considering it runs at TV resolutions. The banter between the squaddies is often hilarious and brings back a lot of memories.

I bought an Amiga system just for Earl Weaver Baseball and didn't regret it either. I bought my X-Box once I saw how good the sports games are compared to the PC. One of the first, if not the first, computer wargame I ever played was Chris Crawford's Eastern Front on the Atari 800. I believe the entire game could be played with the joystick. Considering, how sophisticated the contollers are now, I would think it would be doable. The PS2 and I believe the X-Box has the option of plugging up a keyboard and mouse to the system. So that would eliminate any control problems.

I posted on this thing a month back and now it's a hot topic[8\|] It looks good and i think this game may be worth a shot after seeing some more action shots from it.Just remember this isn't run an gun but proper squad based tactics will be the difference between victory and De Feet[:D]

The gameplay video I watched looks like it plays similiar then what FSW is about.

The only thing that turns me off this game is the fact that the enemy appear at the same spot when you re-start the mission. If the enemy would spawn at random places, I would be runing to buy an X-Box and the game itself.

BUT When you play it in Army mode the maps can be customized as to enemy and Civilian pop, AI etc, which adds tremendous, almost limitless replay value.
