Subchaser -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 8:16:43 PM)

Fatal error 772 [:(]

Hope you guys will fix it soon

Thanks

Pandemic -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 8:51:24 PM)

Yeah thats something we can all rely on - they will fix this as a priority. Theres not many companies who even bother to in the first place. Paradox does as well but I used to work for a couple of really big name games companies as a tester and their attitude after a game was released was and still is shocking.

benway9 -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 8:54:12 PM)

hear hear. bravo to matrix

TSCofield -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 9:13:00 PM)

Yours which doesn't run it has the buggy 9.0 directx version, your wifes has the latest 9.0B version... maybe its there the problem...

Of course theres also the differing O/S systems..

It's the OS I bet. We all seem to have WinME. I hate that OS but I have some programs that won't run on the NT-based kernal so I am resisting upgrading.

Yep, seems to be *certain* versions of ME & 98. Not all of them are affected. I assume you have an OEM release (ie: came installed on the computer?).

Marc von Martial -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 9:34:24 PM)

Yes we had nailed it down from the beginning on Win98 and WinME.

Good news, we seems to have the culprit encircled, just a few more tests.

stinger5050 -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 9:56:17 PM)

what does this say about you guys, you worked hard to get the game ready for orgins, worked hard to get it ready for digital download, and now you are working hard to fix some issues on a Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend. I just want to say THANK YOU for working at it. You want to talk about customer service... what other company would be doing this?

Erik Rutins -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/2/2004 10:09:52 PM)

Stinger,

Thank you, it's not every customer that has a head as cool as yours. [;)] Honestly though you have all been great, thank you for helping us and sticking with it when I know you all would rather have been playing. The 772 issue is fixed, the Tutorial Crash issue is fixed. All we are working on now is the Sound crash issue to see if we can fix that today. If it doesn't look likely, we will release what we've got in an installable patch. Hang in there, you will be playing WitP today...

Regards,

- Erik

I'm in complete awe of your dedication! Thanks for all of your hard work. Rest assured that it is appreciated! [&o][&o]

Johnny Canuck 44 -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 12:21:42 AM)

Dying to play this game, any chance of getting patch anytime soon

Erik Rutins -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 12:40:52 AM)

Yes, the sound issue is proving very stubborn as we can't duplicate it on any of our test/development machines, so we will likely release the rest of the patch soon and work on the sound issue over the weekend.

Regards,

- Erik

bradfordkay -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 6:11:06 AM)

Thanks for the info Erik. There are many of us with the 772 error who would love to see the game, even without sound!!!

Don't forget to enjoy the weekend, at least some BBQ and fireworks, okay?!

Tophat -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 6:52:42 AM)

[X(]OH God! Another sleepless night[:D][;)]

Erik Rutins -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 7:35:40 AM)

It's fixed, I've been waiting for the final installer so it can be posted. Long story, but I won't be getting to sleep until it's up and I'm told it's imminent... [8|]

Regard,s

- Erik

bradfordkay -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 7:57:22 AM)

I hope that you get to go to sleep real soon! [:D]

I do want to voice my appreciation for all that you guys have done. It's a large part of why I love your games. Have a good holiday!

Johnny Canuck 44 -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 8:20:19 AM)

Excellent news ! Have a great weekend [:D]

Bodhi -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 8:22:16 AM)

Cross posted from a thread in the main forum, but maybe something for Erik to ponder if he's got time while waiting for the final installer

Also the registration page still doesn't accept my key, so I guess a patch, if released, will be via a different method than support-members area?

BTW, a few points about the support area.

1. Accessing the Members Support Area.
Clicking the "Members area" logo gives a blank frame.
Clicking the "here" in "Go to the Members Area, click here" works though.

2. Changing Member User Password.
After receiving the member password change confirmation reply, clicking on the confirmation link (Outlook 2000), just gives a blank frame on the Matrix site - the password change didn't seem to have been confirmed.
Entering the URL into the browser via copy/paste gives a blank frame, but something seemd to have happened and the URL displayed:
http://www.matrixgames.com/default.asp?URL=http%3A//www.matrixgames.com/confirmed.asp
And yes, the password change did work.

3. Saving of log-in info.
Any way to save the member log-in and password as a cookie, rather than entering each time?

Other info.
Browser (IE 6.02 - yeah I should no better)
OS Win ME (hence the 772 error).

--------

Your efforts are appreciated Erik.[8D] let's hope it gets fixed soon, not least so that you can get some sleep.[>:]

Erik Rutins -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 8:35:19 AM)

Very, very close...

TheHellPatrol -> RE: Fatal error 772 (7/3/2004 8:52:51 AM)

[X(]I'm sure it will be a separate download until they get the registration thing fixed...right[:-][;)]. Very, very eagerly anticipating[:D].
