Hello...

If you bomb Portland or Tokyo, you get "strategic points" for the damage you do to industry.

Hope this Helps...

??? So if you play Japanese side you have to bomb Allied factories to get these strategic points?

EDIT: Now I see the answer. Thanks

Mr.Frag -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:18:25 PM)

On that note: the Japan player should plan on an all out bombing of OZ bases to get as many points as they can while they can do so. Part of the delay the Allies campaign. For each point you score, the Allies must score two to counter.

But don't follow Luskan's plan and send them unescorted [:D]

Fallschirmjager -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:18:27 PM)

Does capturing them net you points?

Wilson ESQ -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:25:12 PM)

Where do PP points fit in with scoring?

They don't.

Wilson ESQ -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:27:18 PM)

Well, what would hold you back from using them to move HQs all around? Why have 'em

They serve many other purposes. It has nothing to do with scoring. Scoring is bases and destruction of the enemy forces.

Wilson ESQ -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:31:24 PM)

What other purposes? I don't think I've ever seen this explained fully

Changing HQ's, Changing Leaders, etc. Seeing as 2by3 is not putting the manual up, I can't very will recite it. [;)]

Wilson ESQ -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:35:03 PM)

Thanks

Grouchy -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:38:10 PM)

Any automatic pre-1945 victory conditions?

Damien Thorn -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:40:29 PM)

Do the Japanese get more points per factory destroyed since it is harder forthem to get to America than forthe B-29s to get to Tokyo?

Also, if this counts civilian impactI would think it would be AT LEAST 2-1 or 3-1 since land losses for military units are 2-1 and the ratio of what civilian populations were expected to put up with would be even mroe lopsided than what the military guys were expected to put up with.

tiredoftryingnames -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:41:36 PM)

PPs is explained in the FAQ sticky at the top of the page.

You don't want to come near the USA. It kicks another rule into gear that will make you wish to started the war with Russia early instead [;)]

I thought that was only if you invaded.

So, can you tell us what this rule is that makes the US attack-proof even for crappy US players?

not attack proof, just rather challenging [:D]

kaleun -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:53:52 PM)

So we have the redneck rule if you invade. What is the rule if you come near? Rednecks on boats attack your fleet? The Confederate Navy rule?[:D]

Mr.Frag -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:56:00 PM)

No horse shoes in this game, go big or stay home.

pad152 -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/29/2004 10:57:20 PM)

Something I want to try is after PH is go take my carriers east and pay Seattle and Portland a little visit!

Why would I not want to do this!!![:D]

because you might run out of gas.... [:'(]

brisd -> RE: Score - whats counted (6/30/2004 1:34:24 AM)

I know when I get the game sometime this year [;)], I plan to try some hit and run attacks vs Allied AI on US west coast just to see how it responds and what are these special rules. Always try out the crazy strategies on the AI first before totally embarrassing oneself in a PBEM [:'(].
