Cable modem speed is extremely variable. You SHARE you connection with everybody else on your trunk. The trunk is rated at 10BaseT Ethernet speed, but you usually only get a small fraction of the advertised speed. When you are relatively alone, you can 500KB/sec or better. When it gets busy, I've bogged down to under 10KB/sec to the same server!!!

SO in answer......it depends.

Yep, the joys of Cable ... wide open downlink (very fast for streaming video) and a tiny uplink channel shared by everyone in your node. All it takes is one guy in your area UPLOADING to kill your speed.

Ya I hear ya Frag,

I can't complain though, my ISP is pretty consistant....not at 560
kbps but generally pretty quick.

Game download and install without a hitch. Worth the wait to get it right! I am going to look at manual and then the tutorial, probably try a scenario later tonight.
