My friend has a high speed connection but I do not. How do I order the download and pay for it and have him do the download and burn the disk for me?

Easiest would be to order from his place, then you can directly download from there. Otherwise, take your invoice with you to his house. Go to our E-Store and click on "help" , there check the "I need help downloading." link. Or go to www.findmyorder.com and enter your order number and password.

Zubnik -> RE: Digital Download and CD-On Demand <- READ (7/3/2004 7:07:11 PM)

Please post if you have been successful with the digital download and provide any tips/tricks!

I have been attempting for two days now, and never get past 80% before DigitalRiver drops the connection. I have a cable connection and will consistantly receive 386KB/SEC until being dropped, and there is no component/process for restart.

Did you try a download client like Getright yet? www.getright.com

From the E-Store "Help" section:

What if the download stops before it is complete?

This site provides downloads that adheres to the HTTP 1.1 specification that allows for re-startable downloads. Therefore, if your download stops or is interrupted before it is complete, simply press the begin download button again and the download should resume where it left off. If you need to get to the re-download page

Dear Marc, Dear Eric,

I would like to play the game as soon as possible, but I would definitely wish to have a box for it with a full cover for my gaming shelf. So my question is:

Could I pay for digital download now (and download the game) and get the box later for a small extra fee (about $10 - 20?)? Or if I buy the digital download now, I have to pay full price to get a box for the game. (no box update possible)?

It may seem strange, but for this high quality game, I wish to have a box on the shelf.

Hanno

Hey Guys,
how big is WITP in Megs. Is it feasible for those of us with dial-up connections to download it?

She's 466.67 Mb. I live out in the sticks where all I've got is 56k dialup. I used the GetRight (free evaluation software) download manager and gave it a shot. It took 26 hours (average DL rate of 5.3 kb/s), and I had to restart three times because I timed out on my ISP server. It installed fine and runs like a striped-@$$ed ape.

It was a real pain, but I'm glad I didn't wait for my CD to get here two weeks from now.

You could visit his house and take your credit card with you.

It won´t be possible to simply send you the box for an extra charge later.

[8|] Yeah, what he said.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

If so, why? UV came with that stuff (excluding a printed map).

Normally from me ...possible. This time however I really am trying to justify
why I or anyone would bother waiting till August for a DVD box and great looking cover as your prize for waiting??? No offense Matrix/2x3 but I can just put the downloaded file on a CDRW and put that inside the UV DVD box. The UV cd can
find a nice sleave to live out the remainder of its days. [8|]

That’s my whole freaking point!!!

I’ve been asking this question in different threads and no one from Matrix has directly answered my question about printed materials with the boxed version.

IF the boxed version comes with printed material as UV did, I will hold off. If not, I’ll buy it now.

Why is this concept seem foreign to everyone?

We have stated various times that all print items for WITP will be on the CD as PDFs. Even with the boxed version.

koolio -> order error i got (7/6/2004 11:27:23 PM)

I ran into an error trying to use american express for war in the pacific?

(This credit card type is not valid for processing a transaction in this currency.
Please use your browser's "Back" button, enter a different credit card type, and submit again)

"" Reference above at checkout it listed the cost in canadian funds since i chose the Canadian flag as my order country.""

I don't see how to choose american express as the credit card type. The order form only has a place for the credit card number and drop down boxes for the expiry date stuff.

What am i missing here ?

p.s. Im ordering from Canada, never chose the internbational form since it looks exactly as the first form i get anyways ?

Anyways im confused and really dislike online order glitches since it makes me feel my numbers beinbtg stolen. :) I take it this means my order did not work since i got the error at least ?

Atentoko, I think you need Acrobat 5. You can upgrade it for free at the Acrobat site.[:)]

Arnir -> RE: Digital Download and CD-On Demand <- READ (7/7/2004 1:14:14 AM)

Actually, I think you need Acrobat Reader 6.0, but I could be mistaken. However, if you are upgrading, you might as well upgrade to the newest. [:)]

Just for the record.

I bought HTTR boxed version from EB on the weekend... really good stuff... Well done Panther and Matrix.

That will easily keep me busy until the boxed version of WITP comes out in August. (that and doing Uni part-time.)

Keep up the good work Matrix. [:)]

Wilhammer -> RE: Digital Download and CD-On Demand <- READ (7/7/2004 3:54:35 PM)

My experience, with Roadrunner Cable:

300+ KB/sec - took about 25 minutes to download.

------------------------

When I go t the cart screen, I had deselected CD on Demand. (I knpw my way around backups)

After I hit the process order button, a window popped up asking me to confirm my County (Guilford, in NC).

Then I got the message the order was sent and approved.

And the CD on Demand is on the Order!

I was planning on keeping that 10 bucks, but, oh well.

At least it is nice to know it is going to have a professional label on it.

I intend to go to my son's on Friday to order and burn the game off his cable connection (110 mile trip). Obviously I am very concerned about you not being able to load from the disk you burned. Please Matrix or others, has anyone else had a problem with the burned disk. Any information from anybody will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to wait until August but sure don't want to spend the bucks only not to have it not load.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Digital Download and CD-On Demand <- READ (7/7/2004 6:22:07 PM)

There is nothing in the file that should prevent it working on a burned CD. For those who are having problems, I would suggest turning off background processes, burning at a lower speed and seeing if some better quality CDs help. I've seen way too many "coasters" created because of such problems.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik,
In the case of an online order for two cd-on demand, would both cds be sent in the same envelope/container? The reason I ask is I ordered two cds and when the package arrived, there was only one cd in it. My Order# was 82912962.

Thanks bunches in advance

It's possible that they were shipped separately, though I wouldn't have expected that. Can you please e-mail us at support@matrixgames.com so that we can follow up with you directly? Thanks.

Matrix, I am at a loss. My order inquiry at DR states that they are awaiting my funds to be cleared (7/17/04). Yet my bank has informed me that the transaction took place 7/12/04. Five days later and I haven't been approved for my download? Can anybody give me a rational explanation why this is? Home town Indianapolis Indiana US of A.[&:]

7/19/04 got confirmation for download. 16 days total. 25 minutes to download on roadrunner!
