Does anyone know what the losses on landing represent? I saw the IJA land on undefended islands and lose 325 men a few times. Are these training accidents? just wondering.

they represent (abstractly) the disruption, loss/disablement of troops due to accidents and the like. bear in mind that most of these "losses" are actually disablements and will repair given the chance

This is where the 'objective tab' comes into play. the closer you are to 100 (the max # of prep points you can accumulate (1 per day), the smaller your disablement/loss level will be from the simple act of landing on a a beach

thanks. that makes sense. Just seemed lik alot of casualties for a deserted island. That is good detail though.
