SirRodneyOfGout -> Editor and Save Game Ques (7/2/2004 10:00:11 PM)

Can you take a saved game turn and use it as the basis for a new scenario in the editor? Otherwise, can you take a saved game turn and play it from the other side (possibly change options, etc.)?

Always a blue-sky feature, but a few game editors have this cap. Really useful if you have played a game with an interesting historical twist, and would like to share the thrill of victory/agony of defeat with others. Also, always fun to take a game at a certain point and play it from the other side.

Other editor ques: Can you change the start date? Can you change things like the tactical advantage given to Zero pilots in the first months of the war? Can US prod etc. be changed in the editor? (i.e. could you make a 1936 scenario, given that you would have to do a lot of db work and change graphics).

(Obviously haven't DLd the game, won't have time to play it for a couple of weeks anyway. In the meantime I'll just soak up the forum posts and let some of the dead bugs float to the surface - by that time someone will already have posted a Plan Orange scen anyway ).

Cheers!

No, different file types and info. You'd need to load one of the regular scenerio files using the editor as a template, make your changes and then resave it as a new file in an empty slot

On the start date, I think I read in the main game manual that the AI would have a lot of problems with a start date before Dec 1, 1941???

If your playing against the AI you can change sides at will anyway, just set the game to Allied computer if you were previously playing as the Allies, load the game and away you go
