Ok, you need to start from the "quick start" in the program files menu, or better yet, do this:
right click on your SPWaW desktop icon, and click "properties". In the "target" area, simply type in "mech.exe" to replace "spwaw.exe". Click "OK", and your desktop icon will now direct you to the main menu screen.
The SPWaW Intro video is in the package, so you can view it if you want. However, starting with the "mech.exe" is now the default game-start program. The mech.exe was redesigned for 8.2, so this is why you guys have problems with "spwaw.exe".
