rlc27 -> Problem in Marianas campaign (7/5/2004 4:27:53 AM)

Well I've landed 45,000 troops on Saipan, sunk the Musashi and heavily damaged Yamato as well as a host of CA's and CL's, destroyed hundreds of Jap planes. So my invasion forces are sitting on the beach. If I wave my mouse over the land forces symbol on Saipan, it lists all of the many different forces there. However, if I click on it to order someone to attack the fort, I get the list screen with all the troop totals, supply totals, vehicles, and so on, but there are no units listed! And it says they have no supplies even though I've landed thousands in the past few days. How can I attack Saipan if I can't order my Marines forward? Help? Could this be a bug?[:(]

Edit: It does have numbers of troops, etc., listed over on the right, but no actual units listed, even though it says I have 45,000 troops, 130 vehicles, etc.
Weird!

Edit again: I should also say that when I landed the first 25,000 troops, they had no supplies with them at all. I wonder if that could have messed it up? Cuz now I'm unloading hundreds of supplies per turn but they never show up.

Maybe no bullets, but they shouldn't go AWOL!

On a kinda similar note I had an invasion force on a set up AP's that refuse to get off at an unoccupied enemy base. I tried for 3 days before getting half of them taken out by a carrier group. It wasnt until I took the rest back to a friendly base, unloaded then, created a new task force and repeated the process again would they unload...[&:]

Your guys took a look at the beach and said, "Well that LOOKS like it could be dangerous...need more positive vibes here...!"

I'm seeing the same thing in this scenario. The troops appear to unload, but don't show up in the troop screen when I click on the troop icon on Saipan. I can order them to attack by clicking on their icon on the lower panel after selecting Saipan.

Had the same problem. Try clicking on the "ALL Units" (or whatever it says there) on top of the troop list screen.

I've just captured Saipan for the second time. Supplies are attached to units OK - I run all my troop management from the icons at the bottom of the screen as I thought that was the only way to do it [8|]
I've found the Marianas a good scenario to learn about replenishment at sea. I've almost has my 4 CV TF's run out of fuel, boy they guzzle the stuff. Got a good idea on how many AO's to run out to them.

Grotius -> RE: Problem in Marianas campaign (7/5/2004 4:16:06 PM)

I actually saw the same problem with the unit-list in the tutorial, which happens to be set in the same neck of the woods (er, ocean). When I looked at the troop list using a particular interface button (I don't remember which), it was empty. But when I looked at it again, using a different button (again I don't remember which), it was fine. Have you tried examining the troops using every conceivable list button?

rlc27 -> RE: Problem in Marianas campaign (7/5/2004 5:42:19 PM)

I've had a development in this area. I did manage to finally order my troops around by using the icon at the bottom of the screen and selecting individual units. However, the list screen is still blank (no troops indicated) and indicates no supplies needed or owned for over 40,000 troops. However, when I go to the actual unit's screen by clicking on the icon it shows them fully loaded with supplies.

On the list screen it doesn't show any units even if I click on "all units" or any combination of other subcategories.

Odd...

Erik Rutins -> RE: Problem in Marianas campaign (7/5/2004 5:44:30 PM)

Could you post some screenshots of what you're seeing? Thanks.

Regards,

- Erik

Unfortunately I don't have the webspace to post them. I'll email them to you.

Er...tried printscreen to no avail. How do I take one?

Onime No Kyo -> RE: Problem in Marianas campaign (7/5/2004 9:51:46 PM)

rlc take my word for it. What you have done is clicked on the "all units" tab up top and turned everything "off". Click it again and you'll see 'em.
