I tried not claiming any victory hexes until I had eliminated the train and most of the british troops Plus the three AT guns but the matildas still come.
Please somebody what do I do??
Stay away from vic hexes and AT guns, if you worry about either you are not following the mission plan. The train and getting back out are your big point opportunities. An easy decisive is gained by only running the AC's and some PzIIc's in to kill the train, with one infantry unit if you are prone to force abandonment instead of getting the hard kill, the half tracks drop off their infantry on the road to the right of the retreat hex, and the pzIIIe guard the road as well. The AC's will kill the train cars fast and will be evacuating out as soon as they can. Keep all units moving on a single path, not allowing any units to pick their own path (mines).
Since the halftracks exited right after dropping off their infantry, the British armor doesn't get any easy kills, pound each British vehicle as it shows up. About the time you kill the second Matilda your troops are moving to the exit hex. It yeilds a score about 12xxx to 2xxx. Depending how many tanks you lose to the Matildas, if you cheat and prepare an ambush for them knowing where they will come from and where they are going, you can score even better. I have won as well without killing the Matildas, I just let them roll right on by and they did their patrol pattern, I was exited before they returned to the road. thanks, John.
