Yamashita -> Can i patch 8.0 to 8.2 ? (7/5/2004 8:28:14 PM)

Is there a patch upgrde? or can I install 8.2 over 8.0? Will it mes up my campaigns that I have been playing ?

If I should post this Q somewhere else let me know, don't see a SPWAW tech forum--not really necesary I guess. [:D]

There is no patch, so you have to download the whole game and do a fresh install. If you copy your saves/campaigns into the new version you should do okay. But just to be safe, do not delete the previous version before you try those saves [;)]

What changes were made from version 8.1 to 8.2?

Can anyone advise what the file size of version 8.2 is? Also, if known, how big is the generals edition to download?

thanks

8.2 is in the 450 MB class, so if you're not on broadband your modem will have quite an exercise.

SSBlick, the changes from 8.01 to 8.2 are so many I haven't even seen a comprehensive list of it - that's also the reason given by MG why there won't be a patch. Just too many files are changed anyway so a patch will be BIG either way.

Still playing 8.0d here & liking it. I heard 8.2 had some problems with when EQ becomes available so thought I'd wait a bit to make the change.
Can anyone give me any reasons to move to 8.2 ? What changes make a difference so to speak ?
