Will there be any kind of list or description of what "Empires in Harm" modifications have made it into the PC game; i.e., how the PC game differes from the original board game? This would include any changes in the PC game that were not derived from Empires in Harm. This would not include any changes that are just mechanical, such as how you select a stack or how you choose to trade with G.B.

Wellington12347:

The manual will have a more detailed list but let me list a few things here:

We're using EiH V3.0 naval unit types (Heavy Fleets, Lt Fleets, Transports)
Using Privateers close to EiH V3.0 BUT not absolutely like it.
Naval combat is EiA.
We're also implementing minor diplomacy as in EiH V3.0

Stack movement is allowed for naval units BUT NOT land units. This was due to the fact that stack movement is explicitly prohibited in standard EiA. I suspect this is due to foraging chances???

You can view a stack by simply right clicking a stack which will enable a popup with all units in the stack.

Hope this helps...

Thak you

This means no moral, chits and leader for naval battles?

It is also there to enable insurection placement.

Naval Combat like EiA?!?!?! [:(]

At least hope MG had considered to add an upgrade for naval rules, since I really thing this was a left over in the original rules (due to complexity or time matter). Plez

The General upgrade was made by the game designer, so I assume it was a matter of time.
Then, the EiH rules with morale and everything else are pretty good, but I never used till now, maybe next game.

Thanks Marshall.

Nelson will be there. There will also be the heavy ship bonuses.

Pippin:

Thanks for the addition Pippin! You act as if you know a little about this thing ;-)

Ptnognoff:

That's PERFECT! The insurrection units, you're sooooo right and it is soooo obvious! That's why stack movement is not allowed for land units! Believe it or not that has been killing me ever since I took stack mode out of the land phase! Thank you!

If we go back a few months, I can remember us having this same insurection conversation in one of the monthly update threads. Just another sample why EiA is a monster to convert into a PC game. Hang on Marshall, you will get there! [&o] [;)]

PS It's good news you will have Heavy fleet bonus, but will you have light fleet running the blockade thingie, as well?

Marshall Ellis -> RE: EiA Original vs EiH (7/10/2004 4:26:41 PM)

Pfnognoff:

Won't have the light fleet blockade running BUT only the light fleets can act as privateers.

BTW: I do seem to remember the insurrection conversation some time ago (Thanks again)????

Thank you
