lauter -> Manual and Pocket PC (7/7/2004 11:14:10 PM)

Has anyone had any success in reading the manual on a Pocket PC? I just bought a used one and keep coming up with an error message saying the PDF can't be "tagged". This keeps the manual from being sized to fit the screen on the Pocket PC. Just wondering if it's the way the manual is created or a problem on my end.

Thanks.

I've been able to download mine to the PDA but it freezes on page 12

I got a similar message when copying the file to the PDA, but it seemed to work ok.

Having said that, it seems too wide for the screen so I can't read a line without having to scroll right.. this makes it too big a pain to use.

Yep, that's the same problem I have. Apparently the PDF file can't be "tagged" which keeps you from being able to have the text fit the screen. I'm new to PDA's so I was just curious if this was a common problem or if it just had to do with the way the PDF file was originally created?

Oh My GAWD! Some people are too much. Pocket PCs are actually being purchased? Well, there goes the concept of pocket books and social interaction.

On another tack...How many of those intrusive little pieces of technology (cell phones) do you guys have? Nothing worse than a cackling chick or suit on a cell phone 16 hrs a day to make the world a more dangerous and annoying place. Really, who else besides delivery people, drug dealers and women (thanks Fischer Price for making toy phones for little girls!) need these darn things? Stop the car, use a pay phone, proceed in car...especially since most cell phone addicts have the obligatory SUV with which to smash and kill all other commuters while on the sqwawk box.

Sanity preservation required rant now complete...[:D]

Yes, I agree...some people are too much.

I'm a big fan of my palm pilot, but I'm 100% with Ron where cell phones are concerned. I'm constantly tempted to buy one of these little babies:

Probably illegal, but what jury would ever convict you? [;)]

Well I install similar devices in some facilities to counter certain security threats.

I did some research on the manual thing and it appears that it had to be created with "tagged" properties by the author in order to be viewed correctly on a PDA.

What do ya need the hand held GPS for?[:D] Are you a space walker or Navy Seal computer expert tagalong...[&:][;)]

A good buddy of mine has his GPS centred on my bar patio! Main reference grid or something? Kinda useless for the general public but you'd be surprised at the number of people who must have it.

Now that's a good, legitimate reason to carry a few jammers around. Too bad that it wouldn't fly for me, but then I knew I was in the wrong line of work.

I was thinking of getting one for my bar. I wonder what the range is? (15m?...not good enough but a start!) Pee off those annoying little drug dealers that hang out in the club district. Vigilanteism rocks.

Laryngoscope -> RE: Manual and Pocket PC (7/8/2004 2:12:45 AM)

Use repligo http://www.cerience.com/index.htm

This has always been better, stronger, faster then the abode viewer for pdfs. It won't have troubles with tags either.

In fact it works great [8D] for viewing ANYTHING on your PDA!

When I converted the US Letter Manual in Repligo for my Palm T3 it comes out to 4.35 MB. Very readable.

lauter -> RE: Manual and Pocket PC (7/8/2004 3:45:11 AM)

Thanks, but from looking at the web site I assume it doesn't work on a Pocket PC with Windows CE?

Hate to try to get through security at an airport with that...or better yet, leave it in the cab!
