Raverdave -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 7:47:35 AM)

RNZAF Spit.

Arnir -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 7:58:42 AM)

Maybe a Mark VIII.

PBYPilot -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 8:03:03 AM)

A Seafire, maybe Mk. XV?

Arnir -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 8:09:09 AM)

Yes, you are right, I think. A Seafire (Sea Spitfire) but I'm not sure what Mk.

PBYPilot -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 8:18:31 AM)

Or maybe a Mk. FIII

Something that keeps us from playing WitP ?

Ron Saueracker -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 1:05:35 PM)

Most beautiful piston plane ever built? No question![:D]

No bullshiit Mustang fanboys need comment!!!![;)]

JamesM -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 1:48:22 PM)

Griffon engined Mk XIV?

Raverdave -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 2:20:13 PM)

Yeah it is a Griffon engined Spit......I am not convinced that it is a Seafire. It's not the MkXII as that had the "C" wing (Clipped wing) so I would have to guess at it being the Mk XIV

Griffon because of squared top of cowling?[8D] Bigger engine than Merlin it would appear.

So what's the tailhook for, then? Banner towing?[:D]

SURRENDER, DOROTHY!

Piss-weak looking tail hook.

Ron Saueracker -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 3:31:32 PM)

I hope that is not a tail hook!!! Superlative plane but that tail hook is ridiculous, if that what it is. Poor bastards...[X(]

They both are beautiful [:D] The Spit has sublime lines...especially the wings. The Mustang has that fantastic, testosterone-charged, air-inlet, canopy and vertical stabilizer.

Bart_Breedyk -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/8/2004 5:04:47 PM)

Bah, you fighter jocks!

Gimme an A-26 Invader and just TRY to argue with 8 - 18 50 calibre machine guns

Brady -> RE: Name This...(119) (7/9/2004 5:53:27 AM)

Seafire MK XV, it is[:)]

Pictured Ceylon, late 45.
