Arralen -> OOB range values vs. hex scale .. all wrong ??? (6/3/2000 3:18:00 PM)

While trying to design a scenario (put on hold until the patch arrives .. doesn't work correct with this version) and reading through the OOBs, I noticed something what could be a big error in those: If the "range" gives the weapons range in hexes and one hex equals 50 yards (45 m), the range values resp. the hex scale doesn't fit at all ! Some examples - and I'll talk only about weapons that 1) I tried out myself or 2) a friend of mine owns or 3) another friend of mine (died 2 years ago) used himself on the eastern front OOB81 Soviet Union #1 Mosin M1930G (Nagant) Range 48 = 2400 yards (~2200m) #114 7.62 Tokarev Range 8 = 400 yards (~360m) OOB70 Germany #003 ... #006 7.92mm MG34/43 LMG range 48 MMG range 80 (!) = 4000yards (3600m) BMG range 40 = 2000 yards(1800m) #99 7,92 MG42 LMG range 48 #114 Walther P38 range 8 #157 Kar98K Rifle range 48 acc 16 #178 Kar98K Carbine range 24 acc 10 ... looks like a double entry to me .. All the ranges are at least times 2 too high !! Especially about the 98k and the P38 I'm very shure .. tried it myself. You may snipe perfectly well with the 98K on 800..1200m, and the P38 will score a hit now and then on 180m, but to get the bullet to 2200m resp. 360m you better carry it there by yourself Arralen

The game is based on SP3 that used some implicit division in the OOBs so all the ranges are multiplied by 4, but come out right. When modifying OOBs, multiply the range by 4 for it to work out right when you enter it. If you notice the ranges in the game are all correct.
