gbotto600 -> Question! Someone who knows the SHPs plz answer! (1/7/2002 8:57:00 AM)

Hey guys! Well, i was playing a SP:WaW v.7 game and i had some paratroopers come in, i didn't really like the 'big' parachute icon that displays when the troops jump out and drop down, is there a way i can switch this icon (i'm guessing its a SHP) with the one from SP:WW2, you know, the one thats like a small group of i think 3 parachutes?

Hey Glenn: In the shp folder there are a few text files. Open the latest (they're by month), I think it was Sept. Do a find for what you are looking for.
I did para and found a reference to icon #175. If you think you will do more of this, read my posts in 118 new icon slots. You will need to run Spile to find the icon file number and the individual shp image number within that file. If you aren't planning on doing more, and you are runnin SPWAW v7, then look in icon0017.shp and it's the 38th image. You'll need to use Fred Chlanda's SHPED to even view it. SHPED has a provision, hoever, to do just what you propose, move shps from one file to another. SHPED is beta and personally I haven't used this feature.
There are other ways to do it using SHPED if the built in feature doesn't do it. As always backup everything that you'll be playing with.
