HawaiiFive-O -> RE: Anyone planning to build scenarios? (7/9/2004 7:33:59 PM)

I'm seriously considering it. I think the technical side of it is fairly simple, but it's the research side that I'll need help on. I don't have a library full of books on the various Pacific campaigns. [:D] The web's a good place for getting broad descriptions, but it's hit and miss for precise OOBs and little details like number of barges, mines, stuff like that. What I was hoping for would be to make it a collaborative project. So, for instance, I post that I'm going to make a campaign for the retaking of the Aleutians in '43. Post all that I've found OOB-wise, and then let the forum add input on what should be added/subtracted/edited. Probably the most challenging part of making the scenario is balancing the VPs, and making every scenario 'winnable' for each side. This'll take some common sense and playtesting. Lastly, finish the scenario and ship it off to Spooky for posting. Personally, I quail at the thought of attempting the Grand Campaign, at least for the time being. I like the shorter scenarios because you've got a realistic shot at finishing one up.
