Jacc -> Russian mass attacks 1943 onwards (1/8/2002 1:58:00 AM)

Playing a random WW2 campaign on the German side, I've quite disappointed in the Russian equipment selection. A huge mass of T-26s and SU-76s, some silly T-28s and perhaps a platoon of T-34m40s. I am getting desperate: every one of my tanks in the direct front line tend to score over 15 kills per battle, and I even have a lot more artillery than the enemy. The AI-controlled soviets, on the other hand, make airplane attacks that bully me: at turn 7 or 8 (where the battle has practically ended and I chase routed crewmen), they put something over a 20 airplanes attack me. This is nonsense.

I only tried one random campaign for the reasons you describe. I just don't think the game is able to handle something that complicated. It may be better to play a prepared campaign.

My only experience is a PBEM battle (summer 42) where my opponent insisted on generated forces. The bulk of my forces were T-28s :Þ Quite enough of that for me.

On this note-- is it possible to have timed play in campaigns? Or will the campaign linkage be broken as soon as you open the game in that mode? Matt

Seriously though. Am I gonna hafta resort to using the kitchen timer or what? Matt
