TF 38 -> PBEM Question (7/18/2004 3:18:45 AM)

Is it possible for more than two people to play the game PBEM, say four per side, with players passing the game on after they do the move for their zone?

If so, that might provide a really cool option for gaming some of the full-map scenarios.

Sure, just save the file and send it around to your team...last guy ends orders and mails to the other side.

kaleun -> RE: PBEM Question (7/18/2004 3:22:42 AM)

There is already a group trying that..
I wish I had a friend close by to handle some of the details.
Actually I am thinking of giving China to the AI, since it is rather quiet there.
I already have the AI handling the Pacific NE, although I wonder why it keeps sending its subs to Pearl.[&:]

DoomedMantis -> RE: PBEM Question (7/18/2004 8:34:54 AM)

do you have auto subs on?

Zort -> RE: Another PBEM Question (7/19/2004 5:43:20 AM)

Question: I am trying to start a pbem game. I set up the realism as I want it, start the scenario, load my password. Go to email and there is no .dat file as per the manual.

I then openned the file and set the US password and saved. When I try to load that saved file the realism is a set to nothing so there is no FOG. When I try to reset the realism options it starts the email process again.

Where do I find the .dat file (is there one)?

Thanks,

Nomad -> RE: Another PBEM Question (7/19/2004 6:12:09 AM)

They are not dat files. They are witpXXX.pws files. The XXX is the slot number, so slot 10 is witp010.pws. [:)]

Hi, I think I'm one of the group 'who is trying' [:)]

We have split the Allies (by nationalities), but not the IJN (we are 3).
When I receive the turn from IJN instead of hitting the end turn I save it and mail it to my buddy.
It's working fine, especially with the time fuses between EU and US, when we sleep they plan we they plan we sleep [8D]

We believe this system has two main advantages: 1) we keep a LIFE!! [:D], 2) it's fun to discuss a joint strategy.

We are VERY WORRIED about the incoming patch, we have dedicated hours already to the game and I don't even want to think about restarting [sm=Christo_pull_hair.gif]

Cheers

Hope to see an AAR soon, especially to see the two Allied players blaming them after defeats (I say you not to send your CV here..... and this king of stuff)

As for the patch, it is always the same thing, but we find in UV that each patch answers to so many needs that even games started months ago were dropped to start new ones.

No I handle my on subs. These are subs assigned to the Pacific NE area (The Canucks and Alaska) that show up at Pearl, and seem to like to stay there. Those subs are under computer control, since they belong to the computer controlled Pacific NE. Maube they need to replace torpedoes?

mc3744 -> RE: PBEM Question (7/19/2004 7:23:20 PM)

Right now the team playing is fun. We share the burden of the smashing Japanise forces [:)] And my buddy is a real gentleman, we keep asking each other: 'do you need any DDs? I have some AKs you may find useful, shall I send them to you base? Oh, you are so good at being beaten the hell out of ... [:'(]'

I'm not sure we'll drop so easily the game when the patch comes out. We have played 6 game days and it took us almost 9 real days, and several working (and fun of course) hours. Especially as the Allies I don't think I'll start having fun before Christmas 2005 [:D], hence I really don't want to start over.

But we'll see
