mavraam -> Computer controlled regions and malaria (7/21/2004 8:53:05 PM)

If I set a region to computer controlled as the Allies in the main campaign, will it take care of rotating troops in and out of malaria zones as needed?

If not, will my guys die out from malaria if I don't occassionaly take care of this myself?

How about the Japs? Do they need to be rotated in and out of malaria zones or are they immune from its affects? Does the oponent AI do this for them if needed?

I haven't seen the computer controlled areas doing much for me so I just do it all myself.

I do not believe Malaria will actually KILL your troops - it may disable some units and cause higher fatigue and disruption, but I don't think it will actually kill them.. Can a BETA answer this ?

Disruption (from any source: fatigue, no more supplies or even enemy fire) will disable squads

Once more squads are disabled than the healthy ones, they may be disrupted again and die.

Ex: a unit starts with 12 75mm guns
It invades an island and 4 guns get disbaled in the battle. It now shows (4)8
One month later malaria claims its toll and two gun crews are on the crew list (6)6
The next malaria crisis may either disbale one of the healthy crews or kill one of the allready sick ones.
The limit may be (7)5 rather than (6)6 but that is the idea.

There was a bug (IMOO) in UV for malaria checks, each type of unit was checked to see if one get disrupted or eliminated
But if a unit had 144 INF and 4 mortars, there were one check a day for the INF and one for the mortars.
The result was that all artillery disappeared most of the times while the INF was still 95% able....
