Maybe if I had played UV I'd know the answer to these questions. What is the significance of the shading (sometimes bright, sometimes dull) on the ground unit icons? what is the significance of the double ship icon (=) vs a single ship icon (-) on the map. I surmise it might have something to do with sighting verfication or size of task force, but I'm not sure.

Darker indicates more.

Double ship icons means that you or teh enemy have multiple Task Forces in one hex. It's a shorthand graphic to keep a hex from being cluttered up with the same symbol. If you had 10 task forces in one hex in would be difficult to read.[;)]

No kiddin!? LOL! [:D][:D]

And here I thought the darker green for the allies was for marines rather than army! LOL! The things you learn?!? hehehe [X(][:D]

Does it have any relation to what the base can support? I have like 20 air groups in PH and its light green but 10 in another port will be dark green.

I think when it is light means that a HQ unit is located at this base. Am I correct?

The japanese have the light/dark icons too. Also, It appears to me also that their might be a relationship to size of base and/or supply status on whether the icons are light or dark.[sm=crazy.gif]

More what?

I've been wondering about the significance of a Land indicator, that bottom left dot, in a base hex, which either is Green or Grey.

When its Grey exactly what does it mean vis a vis Green?

"It means more" doesn't explain
