Hi

If I order the game now...... will I get the cd on demand with 1.20 version on it or will I have to download it. I asking because I'm on 56K and I don't think I can last or want to put-up with downloading a 125 mb patch. It took me five days and 20 reconnects to download a 19 mb scenario for a game one time[:)]

thanks in advance.

Marc von Martial -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 3:12:59 PM)

Thatīs is the plan yes. But let me please confirm if these files are allready up at Digital River. They should be allready, but I want to make sure.

2ndACR -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 4:48:06 PM)

I expect 2-3 mb patches, but 116mb jeesh. If you have 56k due to life or location your just screwed. Even HTTR is languishing on my hd without their 50 mb patch.

Well Erik did mention in another thread that this one is a tad large because of the sounds issues. I'm really looking forward to the server being back up so I can download this patch. Quirky sounds being gone will be like a fresh tropical breeze before an air raid on Rabaul! LOL!! [:D]

Mr.Frag -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 4:52:08 PM)

Yep, normal patchs will generally be in the < 10 megs catagory. This one is a monster due to all the sound stuff.

Makes you want to cry at times.

Rub it in why don't you. Life does not permit it. I'm still waiting on a paycheck for the past month. But since I am the boss
the so called "little people" in my company come first. Looks like another year in the loss column. Global warming my a**.

I once had a boss, that sayed "boss first" and my paychecks where a month late then [;)]

MadmanRick -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 5:10:06 PM)

I spent some time in a company that struggled to make payroll every week (I was just a line supervisor and I got the heck out), so I feel your pain. It's too bad that arrangements couldn't be made to snail mail a floppy with the patch on it. But, I guess with the problems delivering the CD-On-Demand discs, that might be a bit too trying for Matrix after all they aren't <personal opinion begins here>Bill Gates & Microsuck (with all their faceless minions)<personal opinion ends here>.

More like 90 floppies. [:D]

Would be nice if there was a way to set up delivery on CD for a nominal fee, but it probably wouldn't be worth the trouble.

Oh yeah, the patch is 120mb...and a floppy is 1.44mb...DOH

Marc,
I think he means the patch available on CD-On-Demand, for those who do not have access to fast internet connections.

Burn the patch on a cheap CD-R and mail it to people for $2 or whatever it costs to do the job.

I'm just thinking it might be too much trouble for you guys, which would make the hypothetical fee much higher than I'm thinking.

2ndACR -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 5:29:18 PM)

If only I didn't have a heart or conscience. In the 7 years in business this is the 2nd year in a row where the weather has not cooporated. I want it HOT darn it, this is Texas after all. Went outside the other day around 8am and had to put a sweatshirt on. Temp was around 58 deg. I have been waiting on it to snow. Would not surprise me in the least.

Of course if I took everybody of a guarnteed minimum weekly paycheck (quit paying them for 40 hrs) and quit paying
100% of medical ins, it would not be so bad, and take away the company trucks they take home. There are alot of ways I could cut costs, but these are some loyal people who work (when we got it) some really long hours. An 80hr work week is
fairly common when it is 95 plus everyday.

No bad idea there guys. I am still catching "heck" from my boss for the first purchase.

That is basically available. In our E-Store you can choose a "Patch Compilation CD". We provide these every so and so month, mostly somewhat after the release of a major patch.

Unfortunatly is not only 2$ .

Wilson ESQ -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 6:16:46 PM)

When will the CD with the patch go on sale in your store

Can I come to work for you?...Just so long as ya don't run a honey wagon company...that would suck in the heat especially.

Erik Rutins -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 7:12:30 PM)

Honestly, I'd say wait a few days for the dust to clear, then we can all be sure that the DR update has been posted for the full version. We overnighted it to them yesterday, but I can't guarantee it will be online today.

Regarding the patches CD, our plan is to update that as soon as possible. I'll keep you posted, but it will probably be a week or so.

Regards,

- Erik

TWolf -> RE: If I order now (7/30/2004 7:15:57 PM)

I redownloaded from my original order on the 1st and it was still the 1.00 version, was trying to get around waitting on the download server.[:'(] This was done around 1000 central time.

I used to be in private practice, (In TX actually) I remember a summer when medical insurers (and the state too) decided to not pay claims for like 2 months. I was about to hang myself.
Now I work for the city! (if you can't beat them, join them)[sm=party-smiley-012.gif]
