The patch is available for download in the members area but the FAQ here says it's offline.

Can somebody clear the confusion?

Sorry. I finished downloading it 10 minutes or so ago. Works fine. New sounds are cool. Love the new scenario. Hope I didn't mess anything up.

The readme file states to delete wp.prfs first before installing patch.

Is that correct? and where do I delete this file?

It is in the main game directory. You can also delete it after you install, doesn't matter.

All the settings for the configuration switches are stored here. The game creates it if it does not exist. The idea is to have the game create it because new options have been added that offset the choices in the file.

Trying to find this *^%$# patch is driving me to drink. I had to create another account to get into the members area. Wouldn't accept my old one. After I finally got logged in all I can find is a press release, no patch. I wonder if this could be made just a little more frustrating.

The installer normally does take care of that automatically.

Thanks for the info. When I did it it said register not digital. Now that I lagged back in it changed to digital. However the patch is fairly large and all I have is 56k modem so..... back to the drawing board. I'll have to have my neighbor do it.

I really hope so. One time 2 weeks ago I deleted this file ( to test if it would be created ) and the game didnt started anymore

Glad that I still had the deleted file in the trash can... undeleted it from trash can and voila! game was running perfect like before.

I'm beginning to get annoyed.

I've downloaded the patch, it's sitting in a window, I can't move the file, I can't extract it. What am I supposed to do with it? How do I "apply" something I can't move or manipulate?

& on top of the above I've had two "compressed file is corrupt or invalid".

Mark,

I'm not sure I understand what's going on - do you see the .zip file that you downloaded? If so, just double-click on it to open (if you have an OS older than Windows XP, download something like the evaluation version at www.winzip.com to open it) and then double-click on the .exe file within to install it.

If the file is missing or you delete it the EXE is creating a new default one when you start the game.

I can see the downloaded file. It's there. I can't double click on it, nor can I copy, cut or do anything else to it. I've done the same thing twice & have the same problem (when it downloads without corruption) both times.

If I try to extract the file to a folder, it tells me there are no files to extract. It's a ghost file. I can't left or right click on it, drag or drop, Nada.

What size in the file? IIRC (I don't have it in front of me) the original ZIP file is about 122 MB and the unzipped exe file about 129 MB. Is the file that big?
