In another thread on the main board it was stated that you don't have to delete this as the automatic installation will do it for you.....not sure about that though. Someone else who has upgraded would be better to answer this.

Main game directory.

Can delete it anytime, it resets all your options to the defaults.

Frag,

Does it need to be done manually though or does the install automatically handle it?

[8D]I did it myself...went into main directory found and deleted file...ran the patch, now there is a new one there...i just had to change my preferences again.

The question remains....if you do not do it manually will the install do it automatically like was said in another thread or do you have to do it manually no matter what?

On Win XP you do this. (similar for other windows)

Open up My Computer.
Open up the Hard Drive.
Find the Matrix Games folder and open it.
Open up War in the Pacific.
The last file is the wp.prfs.
Right click on it and select delete.

That should do it. I don't know if it is necessary but that is how I did it.

I am sure I can do it manually easy enough.....just trying to confirm information I heard in another thread before trying to do something and screw myself here when I download in a few hours.

OK.....Marc said the install will delete this file automatically under the other thread so manual deletion is not required.

"The installer normally does take care of that automatically."

You can delete manually or let the installer do it. Whatever you trust more [;)]
