I'm running a test of my modified Scenario #16 and just noticed that every lost US and Australian CA and CL is returning as a Baltimore class CA on the same date as the Baltimore herself. The date makes sense because the replacements shouldn't get there before the first ship in the class but when did CLs get included? The fact that ever lost CA and CL comes back as a CA may just be a statistical anomaly. I have lost the Houston, Australia, Boise, and Adelaide. They are all comming back as Baltimore class CAs.

Man the scenario is only out 24 hours and you already modified it???

anyway there is a 50/50 chance of type on replacement generated and you just happened to hit the Baltimore lottery

Am I also suposed to get replacements for CLs?

yes, if you lose CLs in the beginning parts of the war they return as updated CLs later in the war.

Rule 15.1.1 states that only US and Australian CAs return as either Baltimore class CAs or Cleveland class CLs. The probabiltiy is 50% for both classes and if the game operated in this way it would pretty much duplicate history. In my modified Scenario #16 test game (now at 6/14/42) there have been 5 CAs lost and 5 CLs lost that are returning as 8 Baltimore class CAs and 2 Cleveland class CLs. I realize that the 50% probability has heavily favored the Baltimore class CAs in this case and for me it doesn't matter as I added 3 Baltimore class hulls with their historical arrival dates and am holding any respawned Baltimore class CAs until those ships could have appeared starting in late 1945 but for any player who wants to take advantage of the game system the current rule will be easily exploited. In my test game there are 5 Baltimore class CAs entering the game on the historical arrival date of the USS Baltimore. Since both US and Australian CAs and CLs now have a 50% probability of returning as a Baltimore class CA, I have 3 former CLs returning as Baltimore class CAs including the Concord. What chance do the 4 Omaha class CLs that start the game in theater on 7 Dec 41 have of seeing 15 Feb 42 for those players who want the 50% probability of getting a replacement Baltimore class CA on 15 Aug 43 when the USS Baltimore arrives?

P.S. The carrier situation of this test is historically close to reality. On 14 Jun 42 the Japanese have lost Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Junyo while the US has lost Lexington and Yorktown. The big battle occured near Green Island about 1 Jun 42.

In my test of my v1.20 Scenario #16 mod that is running computer vs computer it is now 21 Aug 43 and the first 6 Baltimore class CAs are on their way to the pending invasion of Tarawa. Three of the six Baltimore class CAs are replacements for lost CLs. In total the Allies have lost 9 CAs and 10 CLs (Columbia lost mid Aug 43 near Brisbane to Japanese sub), 15 of those ships are being replaced as Baltimore class CAs while 4 are being replaced as Cleveland class CLs. When all the new Baltimore class CAs are finally in theater, mid 1945, there will be more US CAs in the Pacific than were ever there historically. The reason I keep bringing this up is because I think the CA/CL respawn rule is flawed, it should only replace lost CAs not CLs as well. When this test reaches mid 1945 I will report the total US CA count. At 2 months played per day that should be about 10 days from now.

Now back to my Scenario #16 mod game versus the Japanese AI at the hard level. I'm all the way up to 27 Dec 41, I'm much slower than the AI vs AI game.
