K.F. -> Problem for V1.20 (7/31/2004 7:29:57 PM)

Hi All,

My computer use Gigabytes motherboard (about 2 years old) and XP (home) system.

After patch for War in the Pacific V1.20, in main menu screen, when I change the setting from default "JAPANESE COMPUTER" to other, my computer will be hanged.

This case will NOT occur if I uninstall the program and reinstall with V1.0 ONLY.

Can someone help me in this case.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Try closing WitP, rename the wp.prfs file in your main WitP directory to old.prfs. Then start it up again to let it regenerate the file and let me know if that helps. Thanks.

Regards,

- Erik

It could be the sound effect you added for the spinning of the big wheel.

Dear Erik,

Thanks for your advise but the problem still exist after I rename the wp.prfs file and restart.

Actually the problem is in V1.00, when I select other option (e.g. Head to Head), the dial knob will rotate to the selected option but in V1.20, the dial knob will not rotate and the system hang.

For your information, I have rename the file "War in the Pacific.exe.bak" to "War in the Pacific.exe", the dial knob will rotate again.

Best regards

K.F.,

Have you tried renaming your "sound" subfolder to "nosound" to see if that gets around it?
Are all your drivers and DirectX completely up to date? Thanks.

Regards,

- Erik

Dear Erik,

Thanks for your reply.

After change the name of "SOUND" folder to "UNSOUND", the dial knob can rotate for the selection.

For your information, my sound card is Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and the driver is updated. My directx version is Direct X 9.0c.

Best Regards
