Erik Rutins -> War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 9:50:43 AM)

Hi,

We recommend that ALL WitP customers upgrade to 1.21. If you started a game in 1.20, we recommend re-starting it after applying 1.21. Games started in 1.00 should be fine, but will not benefit from 1.20 and 1.21 OOB-related fixes.

There were some issues with the scenario files for smaller scenarios in v1.20 that resulted in airplane replacement rates of 0. We've posted v1.21 as an immediate fix so that you can play the small scenarios again. Thanks for your patience.

This new patch is available via our public FTP, to make it as easy as possible for everyone to retrieve. The FTP server is ftp.matrixgames.com. The direct link is:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/WarInThePacific/WarInThePacific-Patch-v121.zip

The downloads page is at:

http://www.matrixgames.com/support/downloads-witp.asp

Please note: This patch requires you to be at the v1.20 level before installing.

1.21 OOB Changes

Scenarios 2, 8, 15 and 16
Removed 23rd Australian Brigade (2591) from Darwin, Replaced with Gull Force Battalion (2591) in Darwin and Lark Force Battalion (2600) and placed in Rabaul (714)

Scenarios 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16
BB Mississippi arriving with wrong class (1214 - October 42) changed to Dec 41 (179) class

All Scenarios
BB Warspite Upgrade class 1406, 20mm ammo in slot 10 set to 0, and weapon could not replenish ammo. Changed to 36

Scenarios 10 and 11
Fixed Warspite class ships Warspite (3174) and Valiant (3175) and Queen Elizabeth (3176) 20mm ammo in slot 10 from 0 to 36

Regards,

- Erik

I just test-downloaded without a hitch. I'll check again.

Mr.Frag -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 9:55:08 AM)

Works fine for me ... you got a proxy server? (ie: cheap isp?)

Erik Rutins -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 9:56:39 AM)

It's definitely working here, downloading via satellite in VT from the NJ servers. Anyone else having problems?

Regards,

MadDawg -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 9:59:05 AM)

Caltone -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 5:22:10 PM)

Since this in an interim fix, I'm guessing those playing scen 15 or 16 won't need this update? Or should we go ahead and grab it?

Any other issues in this patch? I've got a PBEM going with a friend who is having CTD's [&:]

I'm having a lot of trouble d/ling both 1.2 & 1.21 patches. Everytime I go to the members area to d/l them it either goes so far and stops or I get a message saying IE cannot connect to the requested page. Heeeeellllllpppp !!!! [8|]

BPRE -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 5:38:06 PM)

moonraker,

Did you try the link in Eriks post above? If that works I think that you can get the 1.20 patch by changing 1.21 in the line for 1.20.

Tried that but still no joy. It says page can't be displayed [&:]. Wish there was a mirror site.

joliverlay -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 6:26:11 PM)

There is for the patches that don't require serial numbers.....Spooky's web site has it, I got it there. Can remember address.....use google and search spookys uncommon valor fan site and you can get there.

moonraker65 -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 6:38:55 PM)

Tried Spooky's site too and still the same. Never mind I've e-mailed support now. See if they can help

Hi,

The WitP dowload page is at:

http://www.matrixgames.com/support/downloads-witp.asp

EVERYONE should apply 1.21 as the problems did have some affect on the larger scenarios as well. If you are starting a new game, you should make sure you've applied 1.21 on top of 1.20.

- Erik

Do we need to restart after Patching if we are playing Scen 15 -16 ??[&:]

Enforcer -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 6:49:00 PM)

Is YAMASHITA in the game now?

Erik Rutins -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 7:05:44 PM)

You only need to re-start if you want to take advantage of the OOB-related fixes. If you are playing a grand campaign from 1.00, you can keep playing. If you started a grand campaign in 1.20, unfortunately I would suggest restarting because of the issues that were fixed with the 1.21 patch.

- Erik

I don't know, check the change list and certainly check in the game if you have 1.21 installed. I haven't been tracking all the OOB issues/changes personally, but the change list forwarded to us and posted in the 1.20 and 1.21 threads should answer your question.

- Erik

Black Cat -> RE: War in the Pacific Patch v1.21 - Online (8/1/2004 7:11:46 PM)

Thanks Eric , no prob but I think folks may be unclear on that ( playing with 1.20 Grand Campaign should be restarted with 1.21 )

People think 1.21 only effects problems with the small map scenarios.

I really appreciate all the hard work you and the other Matrix people have been at this loooog weekend so we can play this GREAT GAME. Thank You[:)]

I assume you mean "...after applying 1.21". Just the engineer in me [;)]

Thanks for all the great work and patience from you and the rest of the Matrix Games/2by3/beta testers. Some day I'll feel like I know what I'm doing in the grand campaign!

It was a toast like "to your health"...My parents never taught me German as a child, too much guilt i guess, having come from Germany in 1937 and not being Jewish but also not agreeing with AH...it was tough for them just like Japanese Americans.
