Don't know if anyone else is in the UK is having this problem. If I go to the member's area and try to d/l either of the 2 new patches all I get is IE cannot connect to the page you are trying to reach. This is even at a time of day that's not so busy due to the time difference across the pond. I don't need to re-register my serial number do I ?

Any help please ?

I had that a few times whilst trying to download 1.21, but after a few minute break it was fine.

Been trying since Friday though ansd still the same. Have tried for nearly an hour and a half today and still no joy :(

Probably have the same problem - i click on the link but nothing happens. IE progress bar just stops after few minutes - no dialog box po ups. On the other hand I am not in the rush. Till now i had no problems with WiTP at all. The patch, according to text file on download page, does not bring much - no enhancements to the gameplay just small changes in sorting and some fixes to sound problems (which don't concern me).

I suppose so but I think you have to re-start any games in progress once you have upgraded. So the sooner I can d/l the sooner I can re-start my game.

Don't know if it will solve your problem but try to use ftp software. I used SmartFTP (it is free for non commercial use) and downloaded both patches in 10 minutes. Use the URL from patch download page.

I don't know what was the reason IE could not access those files. Now I just have to take the risk of installing the patch - hope there are no more bugs than currently in the game[:D].

Ok downloaded ftp. Not sure how to use it now though. The tutorial isn't that clear. Any help please ?

To your original post, it sounds like you are trying to right-click on the link and are trying to download the file called download.asp.zip which is an .asp file and not the patch. Please left-click on the patch name and see what happens.

I have left clicked it several timesa now and still the same result. A pity that there isn't a mirror d/l site. I can't even get it through SmartFTP. Having eventually sussed out how to use it. Very frustrating [8|]

Are you using a download manager? If not get this one. Download it and install it and then post here again in this thread. You will download this patch yet. [:)]

Star Download ( www.stardownloader.com ) is actually abit easier to set up then GetRight. You might want to give it a try.

You also might want to send an email to Matrix just incase.

Please e-mail support@matrixgames.com with your e-mail address/username (for the members area) and your serial number.

Let me know when you get the download manager installed.

Ok, if you can find the option to add a new url in the program, let me know, and I will PM you with the url address to paste in there and then you can download the patch 1.20. If that works, we will work on 1.21.

Yep, then you have something wrong, that should have worked. Its been used by 4 other people who live all over the world. Good luck and sorry this did not work.

Hi,

If you go to the Members Area now you'll find we have normal FTP links there. You can also go to ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/WarInThePacific and see the patches. It's anonymous login, a normal FTP setup.

Here's the main WitP download page:

If you are having problems downloading, try clearing your cache, restarting your browser and clicking through the links in the Members Area again. Another option is to try an alternate browser like Mozilla or Firefox.

You should also check to make sure, if you have a firewall/router/proxy, that it is not in some way restricting FTP access.

Ok. I've tried all those things Eric but still no joy mate. On Firefox it shows the little box with the green squares but doesn't do anything. Tried disabling my firewall , Emptied my cache. Can't think what else it could be

Yeah I think that's it. Went to the Matrix site on Firefox, Went to the download area and the little box came up in the bottom right hand corner but it then said FTP function complete and no download.

I am currently using FireFox. When I left-click on downloading the 1.20 patch, I first get a window asking me whether I want to pen it or save it to disk. I then select the option to save it to disk, and then a window comes up where I can select where I want to save the file. I choose the location and click on save. A download window then comes up and the green boxes or bars are the progress of the download of the file to your computer. The file is 122.5 Mb from what is displayed on my download window, how long is the download taking you and are you sure you are looking in the right place for the downloaded file when its completed?

Yeah just tried using Firefox again and got the same. When I left click on either the 1.20 or 1.21 patch zip locations it just says FTP function complete and no d/l

Ok how about right-clicking on the patch link and selecting the option to save link as, does a window come up to select where you want to save it?

Ok got rid of SmartFTP. In Firefox yes if I right click on the d/l link I get an option to save link as.. but it then says unable to link to page or page has moved
