After appllying patch 1.21 on 1.20, i start scenario 2 or 15, and i see in Parameters Screens:

Official Scenario 2
Warning: this scenario was edited
Check with other player

Someone forget to apply the Seal of Approval [;)]

Is this a new game that you started as PBEM?

In furture can you please supply more information.

Kadota -> RE: Official scenario "edited" in 1.21 (8/1/2004 2:21:33 PM)

I spot checked several other scenarios in single play and I now assume they all say that.

Deathifier -> RE: Official scenario "edited" in 1.21 (8/1/2004 3:16:43 PM)

I'm getting this too, for scen 15, scen 10 and I'll bet for the rest of them as well.

Patch path was 1.10c -> Registration -> 1.20 (Never ran game with) -> 1.21

I'm also missing the OOB change where that ART unit is loaded on TF1007, it's still sitting at the Canton Is. holiday resort (and yes, I did start a new game, and got op infield, and a BB sank at PH).

Looks like something went screwy with the scenarios in 1.21?

Also your game settings and options get reset, so this might be your problem. Are you guys continuing a game from 1.10?

Erik Rutins -> RE: Official scenario "edited" in 1.21 (8/1/2004 6:55:42 PM)

I wouldn't worry about this, that setting does not actually indicate a scenario problem, just that it was edited. In this case, edited officially so no worries.

Not that I am terribly worried about that, but wasn't that statement provided so that we could see if we were playing an 'official' scenario or not? How do we tell now between Matrix mods and user mods?

SunDevil_MatrixForum -> RE: Official scenario "edited" in 1.21 (8/1/2004 7:02:59 PM)

Matrix mods will be 1 - 25 in the scenario selection, user mods are 26 and up.

Belphegor -> RE: Official scenario "edited" in 1.21 (8/1/2004 7:07:24 PM)

right, but it is entirely possible for someone else to mod 1-25 and we will not be able to tell the difference.

Pry while being Mr.Scenario, doesn't actually sign the files, he just does the editing. This one jumped so fast to to being downloadable that there just wasn't time to sign the goodies.

Belphegor,

The official flag was not included in the last minute rush to get the files into an urgent 1.21 update. However, the files themselves have otherwise been checked over very carefully on the data side. They're fine and ready for use. I think folks who would try to modify the file and get away with an advantage that way are few and far between.

I understand your concern but I think if you have any worries just ask for a copy of the file from your opponent before you start the game. You can check it against yours and make sure they are identical. If you do a google search for file compare utilities there are some that will do a bit-by-bit compare.

Regards,

- Erik

Roger that. thanks guys.

I did say I wasn't terribly worried. But I was certainly curious. Appreciate the quick response.
