Jonathan Palfrey -> True Update not working yet (8/3/2004 9:25:02 AM)

I just tried True Update to get the 2.2 patch, but it said I already had the latest version of the game and there was nothing to do.

Same situation here........give me a good old fashioned zip file file any day....

True update is not set up for the latest COTD patch yet. I actually not sure if it will, cause as it seems we will get rid of TR.

Anyway, you can download the patch manually from:

http://www.matrixgames.com/support/downloads.asp

Or check the "Downloads" link in the top right.

OK, thanks, I've downloaded and installed the EXE file.

I tried True Update because I think it was recommended quite recently as the best method. No longer, apparently. Things move fast in the computer world...

Having installed the patch, I look in vain for any confirmation that it's worked. The game's EXE file still has the old date and there seems no way of getting any meaningful version number out of it. The only way to check seems to be to play it and see if the bugs are still there.

Well, it was working great for me, up until a few days ago. Now, CotD nor Titans of Steel will patch with TrueUpdate. I keep getting this error:

Could not download update information.

Update information file #1

1. You are not connected to the Internet. Please connect to the Internet and try again.
2. The Internet server that you are trying to connect to is not available at this time. Please try again later.

Now, I'm on cable, so I'm always jacked into the 'Net. I've never seen TU use a password. And I don't think the server has been down for so many months. [&:]
