How long does it take before the text color becomes your own when trying to capture a city? I see the points add to my VP total but the color doesnt' change until I leave a unit there for quite some time. Can anyone help me out here?

As soon as you take the town press the "N" key. This will remove the names then press the "N" again. Town names should now be correct colors per who owns them. What I don't understand is why the game cannot check this when you hit the turn button and adjust town names then for you.

Owlish,

When capturing a town you gain the "capture points" if you hold it thru your opponent's next turn. You don't get the ownership points that turn because the hex is contested until your next turn (provided your opponent was not able to retake the city).
