I´d probably duck just as fast if a machine gun started ripping up my squad.
Any unspotted and unexpected source of accurate fire is a huge motivating factor to get out of it´s sight real fast.
Where on the other hand, a unit taking enemy fire while trying to seize/defend its objective will generally enter a ´kill or be killed´ mode and keep shooting back unless things get completely out of hand, and probably couldn´t care less if there´s a sniper or not in the enemy trenches 100 yards away.
I don´t think SPWAW can make this distinction between expected and unexpected sources of enemy fire (especially since all units always know when someone´s looking at them, even when they can´t see them themselves ), so all units on the board must more or less be considered to be in ´combat mode´ at all times, and therefore the amount of supression works just fine right now.
If the modeling of unit leaders where better though, it would be nice if an experienced sniper with plenty of time to set up a shot had a better chance of taking out the leader than an ´ordinary´ casualty, causing loss of C&C.
