Dear War gamers,

This is my first post to this forum. My name is Richard Joseph Michael Ibranyi. I now live in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. I was born 12/6/1955.

I am a Catholic Evangelist, but do not support what is going on in the so-called Catholic churches of today, for they are no longer Catholic churches. I know this is not a religious forum, and thus it is not appropriate to use it to speak of religion, and I do not intend to do so in the future. But, according to my Catholic faith, I am obliged for the love of God and all men to call them to repentance and conversion, as this must take precedence over all that I do. Therefore, at the bottom of my posts I have chosen to print the following:

“The only war that matters if you win is for the salvation of your immortal soul. Visit my website at www.Catholic1.homestead.com to learn of the only hope for salvation.”

Anyone who wants to speak of religion with me can do so by email (RJMI@Email.com) or mail (RJMI, 302 E. Joffre St., Truth or Consequences (TorC), NM, 87901-2878.

War Games are my main form of recreation. I first got involved with War Games as a child. I liked chess but liked war games more because of the added element of chance and the many other strategic factors. So far, Steel Panthers is the best Squad Level war game I have played and the best War Game that I know of.

I would soon like to start playing opponents by PBEM.

Congratulations on your interest in wargaming.

If you want to proselytize, I suggest you do so over at Mad Cow's place (you can find the link at the bottom of the Matrix forum list).

We'll see to it that you're well taken care of...

Welcome to the happy community that is the Matrix forums. Well, occasionally happy, anyway. [;)]

Whether the Steakhouse is the place to talk religion I'm not sure, although I know the good folks at Matrix were rather relieved when the politics got shunted over there. I recommend www.beliefnet.com as a fascinating meeting house for Christians of all denominations, Muslims, Buddhists and pretty much everything else.

Welcome...............but just a gentle reminder that this forum is for game and military history topics. We have a link below at Vinnie's and Doog's place to discuss politics and things of this nature.

Here, I know how to get this on a wargammers track. After reading your post and browsing your website, well done, as an Evangelical Catholic, do you ever find yourself avoiding games like Medieval Total War? Me being a B.A. in history, the one thing I do not like about a game like that is the Inquisition. They confuse the Spanish Inquisition with all inquisitors. Furthermore, the Spanish Inquisition did not arrive until mid 14th century at the height of the so-called Rennaisance. In the game you can get these as earlier as the 1100's. In a sense it seems like this mocks your Church. Do you have this game? Do you ever find yourself facing dillemas like this?

thanks,
ShermanM4
