Has anyone added F7Fs and F8Fs to the game? If so, what stats and art are you using?

Gudgeon,

First off it looks like you used the insert function to make from for the F7F & F8F. The thing to remember is that certain slots are hard coded. For example aircraft slots 77 - 102 are for allied carrier capable aircraft.

Second, moving existing aircraft around will cause problems with which aircraft are being used by the are groups. If the F6F is moved to a different slot then you will have to make sure that all air groups that use it are correct.

To add aircraft art you need to modify the following files located in the art folder:

Allied: A_planeside, Aptop & Aptop_alpha
Japanese: J_planeside, Jptop & Jptop_alpha

You will notice that the bitmap and slot numbers are the same.

Also as a favor to forum members with low bandwidth edit your screen shots to show just what is needed to make your point. [:)]
