Have had trouble with US planes from Carrier Task Force striking. Put them on Naval Attack/Rest and movmnt within 2 hexes of a Jap Transport Task Force and nobody would fly an Air strike. Can anybody tell me what i'm doing wrong, I'm now in March 8 1942, this was attempted about a month earlier around Rabaul.

Hmmmm. Did they spot the task force? Assuming they did, did you specify it as a target in the air combat task force screen?

What is your react setting?

Now how on earth would you do that? He did have the squadrons set on Naval Attack, but there's no way that he can designate any TF as a target.

I didn't pick any specific hex, just one within 2 hexes were the Jap Task force was unloading (Lae), basically an open ocean. I've done this on Uncommon Valor and it worked plenty, just assuming this plays close to it.

So you delivered your carrier TF to a hex within two hexes of the base being unloaded, set all the DB and TB squadrons to Naval Attack/Rest, and no attacks were launched all day. What was the weather? If either the target or the carrier TF is socked in, an attack is not likely to be launched. What are the morale rating of your squadrons? How many aircraft are ready, as opposed to being under repair or in reserve (I have never quite understood how UV/WitP handles the latter, but I've lived with it)?

Might want to check the maximum range of all your aircraft units on the carriers....

you may also verify if there are not to much planes on each CV, rember that above 115% cap they will not fly anymore

Well you mentioned reaction setting which isn't what I was talking about, so not sure if there is an echo or not. [;)]

I was just being my smart assed self...

I haven't seen a carrier plane with less than a 2 hex range though...that's why I asked about his react settings.

You can individualy set the range of your plane groups. I have accidently knocked it down to 0 before.

Sadly, I have too... [:(]
