Says it all. My cd is scratched and won't load 2 wav files. They may not be necessary, and running with music off may avoid their abscence.

Use CD scratch remover on it. Might take a few times but it does work. The disk I am using was accidently put into the drive with another CD and was scratch over the entire face. I got it to work using the scratch remover.

Yes indeed, scratch remover will clear up a lot of problems. However, I've also recently learned that the top side of CDs is equally important. This side needs to be maintained as much as the bottom, as it often causes irregularities if it has been compromised in the same ways as silver-side scratches.
