HawaiiFive-O -> RE: Japanese Air reinforcements (8/23/2004 1:53:17 AM)

I've noticed that in-game there's something weird going on, at least for the IJN side. Land-based reinforcement groups do indeed draw planes from the pool, and get 'free' pilots equal to the number of planes drawn. The displayed strength on the intelligence screen prior to arrival is incorrect. So, early on, you have a Misawa Daitai of Bettys that shows 27/9 (ready/damaged) prior to arrival. When they show up, they have only 27 planes. Air groups that arrive on carriers, however, behave differently. For both the Shoho (2 test games) and the Junyo (just 1 game), it would appear that the groups arrive exactly as described in the intelligence screen when you view your coming naval arrivals. For instance, the Shoho shows that it will arrive with 12xA6M2 (18 max strength for the group) and 6xB5N (12 max strength for the group). If carrier based air behaved like landbased air, Shoho would show up with 18xA6M2 and 12xB5N that were drawn from your pools, completely kitted out with trained pilots for all available planes. This does not happen. You get both groups exactly as described- understrength and without pilots for the missing planes (boo!). And, you seem to get the planes for free (this is difficult to confirm though, because planes are being possibly being added/removed at the turn break as well). Personally, I'd throw away the dubious bonus of free planes for my missing trained pilots. I never have enough trained pilots in the pool- and now my newly arriving carriers just make the situation worse. [:'(] Can anyone else corroborate this? I've paid close attention to the arrivals in my test games, but I could of course have made a mistake.
