Jon_Hal -> Game crashes on reports screen (8/27/2004 4:56:50 PM)

Sometimes when I click on the BACK button on the Ship arrival screen the game closes to desktop.. this is very annoying when I've just spent the last hour assigning ordering in my PBEM game and then have to do it all over again. I'm running version 1.21 and I'm playing the Grand Campaign as the Allies.

Thanks for any info

Jon

There does seem to be a random problem with that back button and I have talked to Frag about it. Do you have any saves from the turns before this happend and right after it happened so they can look at it? I can;t even get to a place to save it before it CTDs for me so I cannot help the folks find out what is wrong here. Most of my CTDs were in turn 1 playing allies with historical OFF.

This is one of those where you will never catch in a save ... you've gotta figure out which combination of bringing up the panels kills it. Been down this path many times where bringing up a certain panel in a certain order kills something for no reason.

Try and reproduce with doing what you did if you can.

ie: hit I key then ship arrivals then sort by date then back and boom.

It may be more complex then that simple example, but thats the root of this particular one. Just to top it off, it is generally scenario specific.

In the mean time, to NOT have these types of crashes, avoid the back buttons and close panels before opening new panels. Not a perfect solution, but you will also *never* crash if you do this.
