5" ASW Rocket Question (Full Version)

Anyone know what these actually do? My books say they are an AA weapon not an ASW weapon. However, the game has them listed as an ASW, but they don't add anything to the ASW value of the late war carriers. I just got a torpedo into one of my carriers and they didn't fire, so I'm assuming they are not an ASW weapon. Is it actually an AA weapon in the game just misidentified in the ship description? Will they fire at incoming aircraft? Are they just taking up space?

Do you mean 5" airborne rocket? That was used against surfaced submarines.

No, the rockets on board Japanese carriers in the last year of the war. My books say they were 4.7" AA Rockets, but the game has them listed as 5" ASW Rockets. They don't seem to do anything.

As far as i know, Japanese did not have any ASW rockets. They did have AA rockets as you said.

Which still means we don't know what the 5" Rockets in the game do, since they don't fire on subs. They don't add any power to the AA rating of the ship either, so I imagine they don't fire on planes either. Does anyone know what they do in the game?
