I'd pass up on New Guinea as well. Go straight to the Marianas with all your carriers and large assault convoys, take those islands, start bombing Japan for major VPs. Then go after the DEI to cut off Japanese resources and oil. Use your carriers to support this move with lots of engineers to rapidly build up airfields for your land based air, to further support the effort. You have enough with Eniwetok, and the Marshalls to keep the supply line to the Marianas open, so throw everything into the DEI after you get the Marianas. I would even hold off on a big drive in Burma, and use the British/Indian army in amphibious ops in the DEI.
