Ok short question, CCM looks good, so is it or is it not a commercially available item?

If so specifically how?

If not, well naturally the question would be why the heck not? hehe.

On looking at the CC forum and diving into their site, sample or no sample, they don't ship outside of continental US by the looks of it.

Pity.

The consensus after seeing everyone talking about it here and there, appears to be, if you are a marine with the right issue of the magazine in question, you got a rare CC and that's that.

The chances of you seeing this as a pirated copy is likely no better than seeing any other hyper rare piece of software that in this case likely would require access to a marine that was a jerk.

I don't think that is entirely likely to happen, so I suppose we foreign non US residents not in the marines or friends of one, can just forget getting this obscure and potentially neat variant.

Oh well, its not like I have never been unable to play a wargame I wanted eh.

How very upsetting.

I feel I owe this to Shrapnel Games:

I have enjoyed playing the 101st Airborne in Normandy game (from you know where).

I checked with Shrapnel's website and they no longer sell the game (which is a pity).

However, they are releasing a sequel to the 101st called "All American: The 82nd Airborne in Normandy" in Sept, 2004. It looks pretty good and has low computer requirements. I'll probably be getting the game.

Been waiting or that game for over 4 years I believe.

Considering the game doesnt look any different to 101st it makes you wander what have they been doing? I have a feeling its going to be far to outdated, which is a crying shame for if it came out a year after 101st was released they would have had a winner. Especially as they have brought in a move all option.

Four years?

I guess it has been a while because all you need to play the 82nd is a P 200 computer [:D]

Good games are always good games.

How old they are is not material unless one's new computer won't run it.

Which explains why I have decided to never ever again get rid of old computers.

Never should have given the IBM PS1 to my sister :) Would be great for putting 95 on it and a few games that thought the world still needed 3.5 floppies hehe.

This is my feeling as well.

As far as the 101st and 82nd games go, there are still so many theatres that can be done: Market-Garden; the Bulge; German paratroopers, etc. . .

Heh, I still have my 486sx 25 up in the top of the closet, pulled it out not long ago to play some old dos games that won't run on XP. PRIVATEER woohoo, lol It is really funny looking at the graphics of those days compared today, but, the games are still solid enjoyment, no matter the graphics. That's why I can't understand this rush to the top end graphics program when games like Battles of Napolean is just as good as any high end graphic Napolean game of today, in most cases better.

No blue screens of death, no lockups, no directx compatibility problems from high end games to low end games, 2mb to 4mb of pure gaming enjoyment and no computer hassles other than configuring the memory, which I created a 6 menu boot disk that has every possible memory setup there was back then. That was a time I enjoyed messing around under the hood, today.....man I don't even know where to start to create a boot disk for Xp that would run dos programs.

Heretic[;)]

Mr.Frag -> RE: Close Combat Marine released..... (9/2/2004 9:11:14 PM)

Is it actually improved any over CC5 or does armor still get stuck and confused and point it's butt at the guns

Tactics -> RE: Close Combat Marine released..... (9/2/2004 9:30:08 PM)

If its anything like RTB, count me out. That was the worst half-baked piece of trash ever.
