Is a really simple way to do this: Make an "empty scenario" ie a scenario with all ship classes, LCUs, Air groups etc as in Scen 15 or 16, but with all the units set to arrive at turn 99999 so none are actually in the scenario (actually there are a lot of uses for that scenario. Hint hint. If someone would make it and post it on Spooky's site). Then all you have to do to have a battle generator is change the location of whatever units you want to see fight to appear on turn 1, all in the same hex. Run the turn and see how these DDs do vs those CAs etc. Or set them all to appear one to four hexes apart, so you can test them in a night battle or a day battle. Should get the same effect, no?
