If you have some planes that are land-based but carrier capable... and transfer them to an aircraft carrier, will they eventually get the carrier based (or whatever it's called... at work, so I don't have the terminology in front of me) stat... because through the operational losses they take they will eventually be good enough to operate off the carrier normally?

On another note, is there way to determine full strength for an air unit? I occassionally find a unit with two planes in it... I assume it just needs replacements, but I don't really know, because I can't find a max strength stat or anthing.

[Edit, thought of another question] If a carrier is sunk do aircraft that are nominally in the air try to return to another, operational, carrier or land base?

Top left corner where it has aircraft info has a number in paranthesis, that is max size of unit.

And as far as I know no carrier capable unit will ever upgrade to carrier experienced no matter how long you use them on an aircraft carrier.

Correct, they never convert, they just suffer higher operational losses for being used like this. That may be an acceptable price depending on what you use them for ... thats one of those choices that come with command rank. [;)]
