I am sure that the answer is going to be obvious once I get it, but what does the OPS header on the ship TF screen tell you? It is the header between Speed and Cap (AC capacity, right?)

Sometimes you can replenish the OPS header in port, sometimes you can't. Why?[&:]

You get 1000 Operations points to spend per phase. OPS tells you how many you have used. When you replenish, you are refueling, i.e. using up time. The OPS number tells you how many of your 1000 ops points you have used up already; you have that many fewer ops points to wreck havoc with in the coming night phase.

Got that one backwards. 0 is good, 1000 is completely spent, no movement possible.

Each activity that the ship does costs some operational points, such as refueling, loading ammo, loading/unloading supplies and troops, being attacked etc. Major activities crank it right to 1000 meaning you are not going anywhere.

The ships' speed is based on 1000 points being available. If instead 500 is used for whatever, the ship can only move half it's normal distance.

This is also something to note when forming a Transport TF. If you include ships that are not at 0 operational points, the loading routine will skip over that ship because loading is a full time activity.

<chuckle> getting old ... reply and reply before i hit enter.

Thanks, guys! I love the game, but for the finer points there is no substitute for these forums...you guys (and Matrix) make it much easier to get into the fun parts of the game.
