Warspite** -> Area Bombing Question (9/19/2004 10:45:00 PM)

I am playing the 1944 Campaign as the Japanese, and I am losing badly (I already knew that would happen). During the game so far my opponent has been conducting raids against Tokyo. He tried two daylight raids and was clobbered. He has now switched to night attacks. He has been flying in 22-29 B-29s a night and dropping bombs to great effect. He has reduced my HI by 500 and damaged most other production facilities. Over the last two nights he attacked my airfields. 460 planes destroyed on the ground and my size 10 arifiled experiencing 79% service and 65% runway damage. all this for the loss of zero planes (this is to be expected as he is operating above the cailing of most of my CAP). My question is does this appear to be high considering he is flying at night, with very few planes and from his maximum altitude? I was willing to believe the HI damage and so forth as they are in the city and fire storms and such (though I believe that in Europe it required several days of day and night bombing by 1000 plane formations to do extensive damage to German cities). However, airfields require precision bombing and I don't think it could happen given that Tokyo should represent several airfields not just one. I am however, not an expert on strategic bombing. I like tanks personally, so I was wondering if someone with a little more knowledge in this field could help me out.
