Tankerace -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 7:01:39 AM)

Soviet 12.2cm Howitzer?

steveh11Matrix -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 11:29:44 AM)

Looks more like 76mm to me.

Steve.

strawbuk -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 11:42:22 AM)

Did UK lend leawse any 4.5 hows to the russkis? Looks a bit like one of those. Or is the longer barrel obscured by smoke in which case... agree with tankerace

Looks like there is a barrel behind the smoke.

Radzy -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 3:12:32 PM)

It looks like Soviet 122 H 09-30 or 22 H 10-30 Howitzer.

Regards,
Radzy

Chris21wen -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 6:04:08 PM)

Looks like a Russian 122mm How but its unsual in that it appears to have solid wheels and rubber tyres.

Tankerace -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 10:05:50 PM)

Don't know why, but that carriage looks kinda like a US 105mm style.

Belisarius -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/22/2004 10:19:36 PM)

Looks a lot like a Russian 122mm howitzer. Early war is my guess.

Chris H, I've seen quite a number of photos of russian artillery with exactly that wheel assembly, so rubber tyres were probably not that uncommon.

Brady -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/23/2004 7:15:16 AM)

It is, 152mm Howitzer Model 1909/30.

Tankerace -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/23/2004 7:28:44 AM)

Oh pfft, off by a measily 30mm. [:D]

Belisarius -> RE: Name This...(179) (9/23/2004 11:08:29 AM)

Looks darn tiny for being a 152mm howitzer, IMO. And no split carriage? Or are they perhaps 'shooting on the fly'? But I digress. [8D]
