Erik Rutins -> 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 5:27:19 PM)

Since there have been questions regarding how to get a full Normandy Campaign scenario, I figure it's worth posting this at the top. JSS created a very nice one, you can see more details on it in the "BIN 76 Turn Campaign Available" thread below. To download it, just click on the attachment below, then right click and "Save Target As" to a location where you will be able to find it. Unzip it to your \Battles In Normandy\Scenarios\Battles In Normandy\ folder and you'll be all set to play "Overlord - On to Paris!". Enjoy and please thank JSS for his work on this.

Regards,

- Erik

Erik Rutins -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 6:20:19 PM)

2gaulle -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 6:29:13 PM)

each time I receive an error message.

IE was not able to open this Internet site. the request site is either unavailable or cannot be found

Clipper1968 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 6:44:20 PM)

Same problem overhere.[:(]
The issue will be probably resolved when I receive my BiN box.[:D]

U2 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 9:08:38 PM)

Bertram -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/27/2004 9:35:10 PM)

Bill Durrant -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 12:04:01 AM)

Ditto

Erik Rutins -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 12:13:40 AM)

I have no idea what's causing this problem - according to the forum, the scenario has already been successfully downloaded 85 times, so it's not universal. I remain able to download it without issues here. Just to confirm, are you LEFT clicking on the "attachment" link then RIGHT clicking on the name of the file in the pop-up box? Are you seeing the pop-up box?

Regards,

- Erik

Clipper1968 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 12:29:06 AM)

Erik,

I have exactly proceeded as you told and every time I get the message that IE is unable to download even if I can see the pop-up box.[&:]

Capitaine -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 12:41:34 AM)

Yeah Erik, I get the error when trying to save from the popup window. Error says site is prohibited or unavailable. [&:]

Heh, and every time I get the error message it adds another "downloaded x times" to the tally. [:'(]

EricGuitarJames -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 12:54:36 AM)

I don't have BiN but I thought I'd try downloading to see what happens. Downloaded fine to my desktop but I'm using Mozilla Firefix as a browser rather than IE.

Toby42 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 2:25:06 AM)

I received the file direct from JSS, but I thought that I would try the download from your post just to see what will happen. I can't save the file either. Some error about IE can't open this internet site. Try later. [sm=crazy.gif]

TheHellPatrol -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 3:28:29 AM)

[X(]Same here...No Dice.

EricGuitarJames -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 3:39:33 AM)

Sounds like a problem with IE. Switch to Firefox - it's more secure, it has more options and you can easily transfer all your IE favourites over with one click[:)] http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ - they don't pay me btw[:D]

Toby42 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 3:48:17 AM)

Why can't you post the file on the SSG/Run 5 site? Just thinking out loud...

it's not true as each time I have try the counter have increase. so 85 is the number of try.

you are right. I just try it successfully

HercMighty -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 5:23:29 AM)

I wasn't able to download with IE either [:(]

Erik Rutins -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 5:43:00 AM)

Hi,

I just re-uploaded a new zip of the scenario with the underscores in the name removed, in case this was causing problems with the link for some. Please try again. I'm having no problem downloading it with IE here.

Regards,

- Erik

HercMighty -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 5:46:07 AM)

This is what I get.

And I can download my own attachment [:(] Weird

Rainbow7 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 6:14:20 AM)

Still get the download error.

Szilard -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 6:42:20 AM)

Same error here.

scout1 -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 7:20:27 AM)

Unfortunately, count me in too. Can't download

Pustov -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 8:03:31 AM)

It's a no go for me also.

IanAM -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 9:19:46 AM)

Downloads fine for me with Firefox.

You're not all running IE on XP with Service Pack 2 installed are you...I understand MS implemented some sort of pop-up blocking for IE [&:]

Afraid I haven't got a setup to test that from here...

Bertram -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 9:22:55 AM)

No, it isn't the popup blocker, the firewall or the security measures. I cancelled them all, and it stillcan't download. I'll try form my old Win98 machine and send it on.

Bertram

edit: does not work either. It does use the same (wireless) router, so maybe it is a problem with its inbuild firewall?

John B -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/28/2004 1:21:59 PM)

I can apparently download it OK using IE. I can then apparently install it OK to the correct folder. But when I select it and click "play Scenario", I'm just taken back to the opening main menu screen. In other words it doesn't load....

it's because you put the scenario in the wrong folder.

the good one is
\Battles In Normandy\Scenarios\Battles In Normandy\Paris\

Yes, that's done the trick. I'd missed off "Paris". Many thanks

Erik Rutins -> RE: 76 Turn Full Normandy Campaign Scenario by JSS (9/29/2004 1:01:23 AM)

Ok, this is quite befuddling. I don't know what the problem is. I'll ask our web guy to take a look and see if he can figure it out.

Regards,

- Erik
