ORIGINAL: JeF Sorry to sound nitpicking, but according to the definition, Wine Is Not an Emulator. Wine provides an implementation of the Windows(tm) API under Linux. With all the aleas ... VMWare does not emulate hardware either. VMWare creates a virtual machine that permits you to run, for example, another operating system (or just the same if you like). OTOH, VirtualPC is a x86 hardware emulation on a Mac. If done well, no doubt that any windows game can run, provided the graphic hardware is correclty emulated (which is less and less a problem, considering Apple uses now standard graphic chips). I would be surprised if Wine makes you run a game better than under VMWare. BTW, considering the cost of both VMWare and VirtualPC, I guess you're not of the ones who gripes about the price of BIN. [;)] I already have VMware, I can use it for more than one thing ;) Not to be counternickpicking, but VMware is a pretty complete emulator. It does skip the emulation of the actual userlevel CPU but it emulates a lot of hardware,, namely all the disk and network stuff, simulates a graphics card and I think it even emulates the MMU (not sure). Wine, when it runs something (not that it runs anything for me but RDOA, but let's theorize), is substancially faster and not such a bitch to run as VMware is. You run a full Windoze inside VMWare and it is the full babysitting, plus the virtual networking. Before VMware 4.x you also have to use network drives inside your PC which is kind of contraintuitive.
